NINE DTP ESRC Funded PhD Studentships 2027 and 2028: Fully Funded Doctoral Training Across Seven UK Universities
ESRC funded doctoral studentships across seven universities in Northern Ireland and the North East of England, combining tuition fees, a tax-free stipend and research training. Stage 1 closes 27 October 2026 at 4:00 p.m.
Eligibility: A completed undergraduate degree. A Master's degree is not required, and Master's level training can be incorporated into the award where it is needed

- Tuition fee support at the UKRI rate, listed as £5,238 for 2026 and 2027, plus a tax-free doctoral stipend listed as £21,805 for 2026 and 2027, with additional research training funding. Rates may be updated for the 2027 and 2028 academic year. Up to £4,000 is available toward travel and accommodation for an eligible Overseas Institutional Visit, which can also extend the studentship by up to three months.
