About this opportunity
The African-German Network of Excellence in Science, funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, runs the Intra-Africa Mobility Grant to help early career researchers build their theses and their networks. The grant supports a doctoral researcher from a sub-Saharan African country who wants to spend time working alongside an experienced researcher at another institution in the region as part of their thesis.
Each award is up to EUR 3,000. The aim is to strengthen capacity and connections for junior male and female researchers across all fields of science, so that the work done during the mobility stay carries forward into the applicant's home institution and community.
Eligible applicants show that their work is relevant for further capacity building. It is a focused grant for a short, purposeful research visit rather than a full degree award.
