About this opportunity

AI is reshaping biology in both directions, building new scientific power and opening new risks at the same time. The AIxBio Fellowship brings together technically minded people who want to work on that seam, and it pays for the whole 10 weeks. Fellows receive a GBP 10,000 total stipend, expert mentorship, research management support, workshops and a network spanning AI, biology, policy and security, all while working full time in Cambridge.

Three tracks keep the programme practical for different kinds of builders. The Research Track suits people investigating AI enabled biological risks, the Placement Track puts fellows inside organisations working on real problems, and the Founding Track supports entrepreneurs creating tools and ventures for the field. Prior formal research experience is not required, and the published information sets no nationality restriction beyond being 18 or older. The 2027 cohort runs from 18 January to 26 March 2027, and applications close on 19 October 2026.
