The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) is inviting cities and urban stakeholders to join the FAO Green Cities Network, a global initiative focused on creating greener, healthier and more sustainable urban and peri-urban environments. The network brings cities together to develop and share sustainable solutions that deliver economic, social and environmental benefits.
More than 300 cities are already benefiting from the initiative, which aims to support improvements for people and the environment in 1,000 cities by 2030. What the FAO Green Cities Network Focuses On The initiative promotes action across key areas, including: Urban and peri-urban forestry Urban and peri-urban agriculture Biodiversity and environmental sustainability Climate action and resilience Sustainable urban development Through the network, participating cities can access opportunities to connect and collaborate with cities around the world, exchange knowledge and successful urban solutions, and promote greener and healthier communities.
