Applications are now open for the 2026 FIAP & FactCheckAfrica Technical Support and Grant Program, an initiative designed to strengthen fact-checking, verification, and disinformation-monitoring organizations in Nigeria ahead of the 2027 General Elections. Implemented by Fundación para la Internacionalización de las Administraciones Públicas (FIAP) in collaboration with FactCheckAfrica under the European Union (EU) Support to ECOWAS in Peace, Security and Governance (EPSG) Project, the program will provide one selected organization with technical expertise, technology upgrades, capacity strengthening, and a grant of up to €4,094.

This programme supports organisations working to protect information integrity by strengthening their technology, improving operational resilience, and expanding their capacity to provide accurate and verified information to the public.
Eligibility
Applicants must:
- Be legally registered in Nigeria as an NGO, media house, civil society organisation, or independent digital media organisation.
- Have at least two years of experience in fact-checking, media verification, or disinformation monitoring.
- Operate a functional and publicly accessible digital platform dedicated to fact-checking or disinformation monitoring.
- Have dedicated technical personnel or a formal technical service provider managing their platform.
- Demonstrate experience addressing election misinformation, political content, public health misinformation, hate speech, or related issues.
- Show national reach or present a credible plan to cover at least three of Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones.
- Demonstrate a commitment to gender inclusion and equitable representation. What You’ll Gain The selected organisation will receive:
