About this opportunity
Applications are now open for the 2026 World Bank GovTech AI Bootcamp for Governance and Public Administration , a global capacity-building opportunity designed to help government institutions use artificial intelligence to improve public services and strengthen public administration. The programme is organized by the World Bank, in collaboration with the Republic of Korea’s Ministry of the Interior and Safety (MOIS) and the National Information Society Agency (NIA).
The bootcamp is targeted at government institutions in low- and middle-income countries that are developing, piloting, or deploying AI-enabled solutions for public-sector challenges.
Eligibility
The call is open to government institutions working on AI initiatives related to: Public financial management Civil service and human resource management Citizen services Civic technology and citizen engagement Public procurement Anti-corruption Transparency Public administration Other public-sector applications of AI Each application must nominate a two-person team consisting of: A policy leader with decision-making authority. A technical practitioner directly involved in implementing the AI initiative.
Applicants should be comfortable participating in English-language discussions and workshops. What Are They Looking For?
Strong applications should demonstrate: A clearly defined public-sector challenge. A realistic AI-enabled solution.
Evidence that the solution is already being developed, piloted, or deployed. Strong institutional commitment.
Technical feasibility. A credible implementation pathway.
Clear learning objectives for participating in the bootcamp. Applicants should also explain how exposure to Korea’s experience and expertise could help accelerate their AI initiative.
Benefits Up to five government teams will be selected to participate in a fully funded five-day technical bootcamp in Seoul, South Korea. The programme will cover: International travel costs for two selected team members.
Accommodation during the bootcamp. Technical training and workshops.
Exposure to Korea’s public and private-sector AI ecosystem. Site visits and exchanges with AI practitioners.
Practical guidance from Korean AI experts and World Bank specialists. Technical feedback and potential follow-up support after the bootcamp.
Participants will also work on refining their AI solutions and developing practical implementation roadmaps addressing issues such as data, algorithms, infrastructure and deployment.

Application steps
Government institutions interested in participating should submit their applications through the official submission process. Applicants will be required to provide information about the public-sector challenge, proposed AI solution, technical and data readiness, institutional support, implementation risks, learning objectives and plans following the bootcamp.
Supporting documents such as endorsement letters, technical diagrams, policy documents and budget commitments may also be submitted.
