About this opportunity

Girls Not Brides is the only global organisation focused uniquely on building and sustaining a worldwide movement to end child marriage, a partnership of more than 1,400 civil society organisations in nearly 100 countries. It is recruiting a Social Media and Content Officer to shape its digital presence through social media, creative content and audience engagement. The role sits within communications, reports to the Communications Manager and is based in Nairobi, Kenya or Mexico City, Mexico.

The work runs from strategy to execution. The officer develops and delivers social media plans, calendars and scheduling, creates graphics, video, photography and digital assets, and turns organisational priorities, stories and evidence into accessible, audience focused communications. Day to day activity is managed independently, with performance monitored against audience insight and platform trends, and the postholder supports the consistent application of the Girls Not Brides brand across campaigns, launches and influencing moments.

This is a full time, two year fixed term contract and the candidate must already hold the right to work in the country they are based in, at the time of applying and for the whole contract. Salary is market competitive, benchmarked by the Birches Group against comparable national NGO salaries in the selected location and paid in local currency. Applications close at 17:00 British Summer Time on Friday 16 October 2026, and because review is on a rolling basis the vacancy may close earlier if enough suitably qualified applications arrive.
