About this opportunity
Neuroscience shapes how we understand health, behaviour and everyday life, yet access to clear, accurate information about brain science varies enormously from one community to another. The IBRO/Dana Brain Awareness Week Grants exist to close that gap by funding public outreach in countries outside Europe.
The International Brain Research Organization, with the Dana Foundation, supports events and campaigns of up to US$1,250 that bring brain science closer to students, teachers, families, policymakers, media and the wider public. Activities can take any form that fits the audience: school programmes, community events, public discussions, media engagement, advocacy and interdisciplinary projects that explore the ethical, legal and societal sides of neuroscience.
Two rules matter most. The funded activity must take place in 2027, and it must promote the objectives of the global Brain Awareness Week campaign, even if it does not run during the official week. Proposals are also expected to build in diversity, equity and inclusion following the ALBA Network guidelines, and to respect IBRO's visibility requirements for supported activities.
