About this opportunity

The ifa CrossCulture Programme, known as the CCP, funds 50 to 60 professionals and volunteers from more than 40 countries each year through fellowships that build intercultural networks. The 2027 call is open from 20 October to 8 December 2026.

Fellows spend two to three months working alongside a host organisation from the CCP network, either in Germany or in a partner country. The idea is a two way exchange: you bring the regional knowledge and networks of your own context, and you return with new skills, contacts and a stronger practice.

The fellowship is fully funded. ifa covers a monthly stipend of 650 euros, round trip airfare, accommodation, a monthly public transport ticket in your city of residence, health insurance and any visa fees you pay. Alongside the placement you receive mentoring, professional development in your field, a three to four day transcultural workshop and a place in the CCP alumni network.

To be eligible you must be at least 23, have two years of professional or volunteer experience in a civil society organisation in a participating country, and work in policy and society, media and culture, human rights and peace, or sustainable development and climate justice. The Echidna Global Scholars Program is a six month visiting fellowship run by the Center for Universal Education at the Brookings Institution in Washington, D.C. Scholars receive a total stipend of US$26,500, and the programme covers round-trip travel, single-occupancy housing during the four month residency, the costs of the visa process, the opening research design retreat and a limited health insurance plan.
