About this opportunity
MAXMINDS 2. 0 is a mentoring initiative led by volunteer researchers and alumni of the Max Planck Society.
It is aimed at scholars whose work is threatened by war or natural disaster and who have limited access to research resources and institutional support. If you are matched, you receive one on one guidance from a current or former Max Planck Institute researcher, shaped around your own research interests.
The support covers finding and applying for positions, scholarships, fellowships and research stays, strengthening your CV and proposals, building academic connections and staying scientifically active. Mentoring runs for at least four months and can extend to six.
Applications for the 2026/27 round close on 18 October 2026 at 23:59 Central European Summer Time.
What you receive
- One on one mentoring with a current or former Max Planck Institute researcher
- Guidance on finding and applying for positions, scholarships, fellowships and research stays
- Support to strengthen CVs and research proposals
- Academic connections and regular check ins
- Mentoring of at least four months, extendable to six
