About this opportunity

NORRAG, the global education centre of the Geneva Graduate Institute, is recruiting a postdoctoral researcher for the project Knowledge Production, Networks, and Power in Global Education Governance. The study asks who produces the evidence behind global education policy, how those expert networks are structured, and what organisations do with knowledge once it starts circulating through bodies like UNESCO, the OECD and the World Bank.

The work is empirical and mixed methods. You would collect and analyse data, combine social network analysis with network-cued interviews, take part in fieldwork and help with the administrative side of the project. The contract sits at an 80 percent activity rate for a maximum duration until August 2030, with a start in February 2027 to be agreed.

Pay and welfare benefits follow the Swiss National Science Foundation range for postdoctoral researchers, and the Institute adds mentoring inside the team led by Professor Chanwoong Baek, access to international and European conferences and opportunities for research travel. The names no nationality restriction, so a researcher holding a PhD in political science, international relations or education policy from anywhere in Africa can apply, provided the social network analysis background is real and demonstrable.
