Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships 2027: Fully Funded Research and Arts Study in Switzerland

The Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships give early career researchers and artists from more than 180 countries, including countries across Africa, the chance to carry out funded research or study in Switzerland. The 2027 cycle covers research fellowships, PhD scholarships and first Master in Arts scholarships, each paying CHF 2,450 per month, with studies starting 1 September 2027. Applications run through the Swiss Grants Online portal, and each country has its own submission deadline between 13 October and 30 November 2026.

Funding or benefit

CHF 2,450 per month for the duration of the scholarship, to cover basic living expenses for one person. The stipend is not a salary and is not treated as regular remuneration.
