About this opportunity
A lot of development research stays on the shelf. This fellowship is built to keep that work close to the field.
Over two years, AICAD and the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT sponsor tuition for a Master's in agricultural and development economics, with supervision focused on how agricultural innovations and development programmes actually affect livelihoods. The study can run one year in Kenya and one year in Uganda, or both years in Kenya, subject to availability and student preference.
Research topics are jointly developed by the Alliance, AICAD and the host departments, which is what ties the work to practical development needs instead of purely academic questions. The call is open to applicants holding a Bachelor's degree in economics, agricultural economics, development studies, geography, statistics or a related discipline, with strong quantitative skills, good written and spoken English, and
