EUI Jean Monnet Fellowships 2027 at the Robert Schuman Centre in Florence

The Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies at the European University Institute offers up to 20 one year Jean Monnet Fellowships for the academic year 2027 to 2028. The fellowship is aimed at senior early to mid career scholars who took their doctorate more than five years ago and want a year of focused research in Florence, including post-docs, tenure-track academics and those spending a sabbatical at the Centre. Applications close at 14:00 CEST on 23 October 2026.

Eligibility: You were awarded your doctorate more than five years before the start of the fellowship on 1 September 2027, which means before 1 September 2022

Funding or benefit

A basic grant of EUR 2,850 per month for twelve months from September to August, reduced to a rate of not less than EUR 2,100 per month where the fellow receives other grants or salary. A household allowance of up to EUR 310 per month may be added where a partner lives with the fellow in Florence and earns under EUR 2,000 per month, with income plus allowance capped at EUR 2,000. Travel in and out of Florence is reimbursed on first class rail or economy air up to a combined EUR 1,200. No grant is paid for August. The amounts are monthly figures, not a single award.
