Hello everyone, Raro here. These eight verified grants are open to people in Nigeria and across Africa and close before mid November 2026. Here is what each one gives, who it is for and the date you cannot miss.

Hello everyone, Raro here. 👋

Quick one today, because a few of you have asked me the same thing this week: "Which grants should I be working on right now?" Fair question. Deadlines have a way of sneaking up on all of us. You bookmark a call on Monday, life happens, and by the time you remember, the portal is closed.

So I went through everything our team has verified on Nextali and pulled out the grants that are open to people in Nigeria and across Africa and close before mid November 2026. I have kept it short and honest: what each one gives, who it is really for, and the date you cannot miss. Every link takes you to the full listing with eligibility, documents and the official application route.

Grab a coffee, pick the ones that fit you, and let's get those applications in. ☕

Closing this month

1. TETFund National Research Fund Grant Cycle 2026

Closes: 15 October 2026
Funding: a pool of up to N10 billion, with each project budget between N5 million and N70 million
Who it is for: lecturers and researchers in Nigerian public universities, polytechnics and colleges of education

If you are an academic in our community, this is your last call. It closes almost immediately, so please do not sleep on it. See the TETFund details.

2. ALIGN Local Innovations Grants for Adolescent Health and Nutrition

Closes: 21 October 2026
Funding: up to USD 214,000 per country consortium for 18 months, across 12 African countries
Who it is for: registered local nonprofits and youth led organisations

To the NGO founders here: this one rewards groups that already know their communities well. If that is you, it is worth a serious look. See the ALIGN details.

3. Jobtech Alliance Founder Call in Mombasa

Closes: 23 October 2026
Funding: up to US$20,000 plus technical support
Who it is for: startups based in Mombasa, or ready to expand there

Our Kenyan builders, especially anyone working on tools that help people find work or earn better, this one has your name on it. See the Jobtech Alliance details.

4. The ActHIVate Fund by Aidsfonds

Closes: 25 October 2026

See the ActHIVate details.

5. Atlassian Foundation Open Call for Education Projects in the AI Era

Closes: 30 October 2026
Funding: up to US$1 million per partnership over two years, plus a learning cohort and tools
Who it is for: registered nonprofits in any country, African education organisations included

Honestly, this is the biggest cheque on today's list. If your organisation is preparing young people for an AI shaped future, block out time this week for it. See the Atlassian Foundation details.

6. ProMoat Capital Drawbridge Grant 2026

Smaller cheque, yes, but no strings attached. For a small business, that kind of money can buy stock, a better laptop or a few months of breathing room. See the ProMoat details.

See the CEGA details.

A little advice from me before you apply

I have seen good people lose out for small, avoidable reasons. So humour me with these three:

  • Read the eligibility line twice. Country, organisation type and stage knock out more applicants than weak writing ever does.
  • Start gathering documents today. Registration papers, budgets and references always take longer than the form itself.
  • Apply only through the official link. Nextali never charges you to apply, and if anyone asks you to pay for a "guaranteed" grant, please walk away.

If you are not in our WhatsApp community yet, come and join us. Join our WhatsApp community to access grants, opportunities and other premium offers. That is where I share new calls the moment our team verifies them. You can also browse every open call on the Nextali grants page.

Rooting for you all. Go get that funding. 💛
